Across the United States, countless people laughed and shook their heads upon learning that Beto O’Rourke would be running to become the next Governor of Texas.
O’Rourke previously launched a failed campaign to be a Texas senator in 2018. This failure was followed by another unsuccessful campaign geared towards winning the 2020 Democratic presidential nomination.
Judging from his behavior patterns, it seems like O’Rourke is fond of being defeated in political races. Multiple Texas polls already show that incumbent Republican Governor Greg Abbott leads O’Rourke across the states.
Abbott is also significantly beating out the Texas Democrat regarding support from Independent voters in the Lone Star State. As O’Rourke witnesses his campaign steadily crumbling, he’s employed a new tactic that everyone is branding as desperation, per Twitchy.
When Beto O’Rourke was trying to win the Democratic Party’s presidential nomination in 2020, he infamously proclaimed on a debate stage that the government would be taking people’s AR-15s, AK-47s, and presumably other firearms.
These remarks have since followed O’Rourke and negatively impacted his gubernatorial campaign in Texas. For this reason, the Democrat is now trying to create the appearance of a change of heart on the Second Amendment.
While stopping to rally in Tyler, Texas, O’Rourke asserted that he’s interested in defending the Second Amendment rather than “taking” firearms from law-abiding Americans. In the same breath, though, the Democrat also managed to trash Governor Abbott for passing a constitutional carry bill into law.
In O’Rourke’s supposedly infamous wisdom and defense of the Second Amendment, he declared that constitutional carry is a danger that threatens the safety of police officers in the Lone Star State. The Texas Democrat has also been clear that if he manages to weasel his way into the state’s Governor’s mansion, he’ll be repealing constitutional carry.
Governor Abbott and many other patriots called out O’Rourke for lying and pandering to keep his pitiful campaign alive.
O’Rourke has been openly anti-Second Amendment. During the 2020 Democratic primary, when the Texas Democrat vowed to have the government collect people’s firearms, he sold t-shirts and merchandise promoting this idea.
This notion that O’Rourke has suddenly come around to understanding and respecting legal gun ownership is a joke. He will say anything he thinks will get him the job of Governor Abbott. Yet, judging from multiple polls out of Texas, voters can see through the cheap act of this phony leftist.
