The Joe Biden Administration, up for reelection this November in the 2024 U.S. elections, is giving $850 million to KORE Power, a Chinese-owned battery maker, as part of a conditional loan to build a battery production plant in Arizona.
In another fumble right out of the annals of Washington D.C. spending programs, the appropriated funds the Biden administration used to bankroll a Chinese-backed battery company operating in the American southwest were intended to decrease American reliance on batteries from China.
The Biden admin approved an $850 million loan to the company KORE Power to build a battery plant in Arizona.
The goal was to combat Chinese dominance of the battery industry.

However, according to court filings, the company that received the loan to build the new facility on the taxpayer’s dime, KORE Power — has enlisted the help of its parent company, a Chinese battery maker, to raise the new factory site.
Caitlin Sutherland, executive director of Americans for Public Trust, told the Washington Free Beacon in a statement: “For a program that was supposed to decrease America’s reliance on China, this is incredibly counterproductive. It’s outrageous that a company partly owned by a Chinese company with ties to the CCP would be rewarded with taxpayer money.”

Earlier in February, FBI Director Christopher Wray told the Congressional Select Committee on the Chinese Communist Party to beware of the threat of Chinese hacks, “China’s hackers are positioning on American infrastructure in preparation to wreak havoc and cause real-world harm to American citizens and communities, if or when China decides the time has come to strike.”
Rear Adm. John Vann, who leads the U.S. Coast Guard Cyber Command, recently warned that Chinese installations in the U.S. are vulnerable to attacks, “By design these cranes may be controlled, serviced and programmed from remote locations. These features potentially leave PRC-manufactured cranes vulnerable to exploitation.”
China may want to attack the U.S. at vulnerable points where it has intelligence of the site to disrupt operations and cause damage to the economy while distracting the U.S. military and intelligence community about a threat in the homeland to throw the government off-balance while making a move to invade Taiwan and conquer the neighboring island by force.
