Border Wall Materials Removed, Auctioned As Trump Plans To Resume Construction

In a move drawing sharp criticism, the Biden administration is removing unused border wall materials and auctioning them off through a government surplus website. Critics argue the effort is a deliberate attempt to undermine President-elect Donald Trump’s ability to quickly secure the border.

A Daily Wire report revealed that sections of steel bollard wall, stored at border sites like Tucson and Nogales, are now being hauled away to Pinal Airpark in Arizona for sale on GovPlanet. Starting bids for these materials are as low as $5, sparking outrage among supporters of Trump’s border policies.

Customs and Border Protection whistleblowers say the materials are being moved at a rapid pace, with as much as half a mile of wall sections transported daily. “When Trump comes back and he wants to start the border wall all over again, the whole entire funding fight is gonna happen again,” one agent said.

The auctions have been labeled wasteful and counterproductive by critics who argue that the materials could be used to restart construction. Trump’s promise to finish the border wall was a key factor in his electoral victory, and his team plans to use executive action to unlock funding for the project.

Rep. Eli Crane (R-AZ) called the actions of the Biden administration “a direct affront to the will of the people.” He accused the administration of prioritizing politics over security, leaving the incoming administration with a renewed fight to secure the southern border.

The sale of border wall materials adds to ongoing tensions over immigration, which has become a central issue as the U.S. faces record numbers of illegal crossings.
