Bret Baier Interrogated By Kari Lake For Not Covering Fraud in 2020

During a tense appearance on Fox News’ “Special Report with Bret Baier,” Arizona gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake (R) didn’t hold back in calling out both the Fox News host and the “illegitimate president” Joe Biden.

Fox News host Bret Baier began the interview by asking Lake about her opinion regarding the overturning of Roe v. Wade, and how she planned to deal with the opposition to Arizona’s trigger law — which will ban abortions after 15 weeks — from Democrat-run cities like Tucson and Phoenix.

“We will protect the lives of the unborn in Arizona. It’s going to be very hard for abortion clinics to survive and be open. Abortion is illegal in Arizona,” Lake stated.

Lake, who previously worked as a TV news journalist at Phoenix television station KSAZ-TV for 22 years, was then asked about the biggest issues facing the state.

In response, the Republican candidate discussed the open border and the massive amounts of drugs pouring into the country because of it, but asserted that none of these problems would be nearly as bad as they currently are if the U.S. had fair elections.

“That wouldn’t be happening if we had fair, honest elections,” she said. “We had a fraudulent election, a corrupt election, and we have an illegitimate president sitting in the White House. Because of that, our border is wide open.”

Baier immediately began pushing back against Lake’s allegations of an illegitimate election, playing a video clip of Arizona Speaker of the House Rusty Bowers (R) telling the House select committee investigating the January 6 Capitol riot last week that he did not believe the election was stolen.

When asked to respond to Bowers’ comments, Lake told Baier, “He is a RINO. And he hopefully will be defeated. He is an absolute RINO.”

The Republican candidate went on to list a significant amount of evidence that indicates irregularities occurred in the 2020 election in Arizona, and called out the mainstream media for refusing to cover it.

“Here’s what we have: 740,000 ballots that have no chain of custody — they cannot be authenticated and they should not have been counted; 34,000 ballots that were counted 2, 3, and 4 times; people who moved and still voted in our election. There’s a mountain of evidence, and I wish that the corporate media would start covering it instead of putting their head in the sand and acting like it didn’t happen. We know what happened here,” Lake said.

Baier responded with the usual canned statement, brushing off her claims by saying, “There have been, as you know, more than 70 court cases where there was not evidence and there was not any state legislature or governor that failed to certify an election, including your own Republican Doug Ducey.”

Lake explained the fact that no legitimate evidence has been allowed to be brought into any of the court cases so far, though she did voice optimism regarding a future court case where the “True The Vote” evidence can be brought before a judge.

The Fox News host went on to ask Lake if she believes that Arizona voters want to spend time “looking at 2020 instead of looking forward from 2022 and beyond.”

The Republican candidate responded by stating that she talks to Arizona citizens every day, and they have told her repeatedly that election integrity is the top priority because all other issues are downstream of fair and legitimate elections.

Lake said the voters understand that every issue, “from inflation to the border being wide open, not being able to afford gas and groceries, all stems from this corrupt election.”

Baier made sure to end the election conversation by reminding his viewers that every Republican leader in Washington, D.C. agrees that Joe Biden is the legitimate president.
