Catholic Leaders Warn Of Kamala Harris’ Anti-Catholic Policies

Prominent Catholic leaders from organizations such as Students for Life of America, the Lepanto Institute, and the American Life League have voiced concerns about Kamala Harris’ record, which they believe poses a threat to religious freedoms. Harris, who was labeled the most liberal senator in 2019, has taken several actions perceived as hostile to Catholic values.

Under the Biden-Harris administration, the Department of Justice (DOJ) has aggressively enforced the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances (FACE) Act, particularly against pro-life activists, following the Supreme Court’s reversal of Roe v. Wade in 2022. Critics claim that the FACE Act has been used 130 times against pro-life individuals but only three times against pro-abortion protesters.

Additionally, a DOJ memo targeted Catholics attending Traditional Latin Masses and parents protesting gender ideologies in schools, branding them as extremists. Harris’s tenure as California’s attorney general included prosecuting pro-life journalist David Daleiden for exposing Planned Parenthood’s practices. She also supported legislation mandating pro-life pregnancy centers to inform women about abortion services, a measure later overturned by the Supreme Court.

Catholic leaders argue that Harris’s actions demonstrate a significant threat to religious freedom and the principles upheld by Catholic institutions. They highlight her opposition to religious exemptions for companies like Hobby Lobby and her criticism of judicial nominees affiliated with the Knights of Columbus as further evidence of her anti-Catholic agenda
