Chinese National Arrested Again For Trespassing At Mar-A-Lago

Zijie Li, a Chinese national, was arrested Thursday after police say he violated a court order requiring him to stay away from President-elect Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate. Li, 39, is being held without bond and faces two misdemeanor trespassing charges.

Li, who lives in Los Angeles on a student visa, has been involved in several incidents near Mar-a-Lago since July. He was initially arrested that month after multiple attempts to access the estate, claiming to have information about an assassination attempt on Trump.

Following his first arrest, a judge ordered Li to stay away from Mar-a-Lago. Despite the order, he continued to return to the property. Last week, he approached a homeowner near the estate, asking for help entering. Police took him to a mental hospital, where he was held until his release on Thursday.

Upon his release, Li returned to Mar-a-Lago and was arrested at the entrance gate. His bail for the earlier trespassing charge was revoked, and he now faces additional legal consequences for his repeated violations.

Mar-a-Lago has been the site of multiple security breaches over the years, including incidents involving other Chinese nationals. In 2019, Yujing Zhang entered the property with electronic devices and was later convicted of trespassing.

The Palm Beach County Public Defender’s Office, which is representing Li, has declined to comment. The case highlights ongoing concerns about securing high-profile locations like Mar-a-Lago, which has remained central to Trump’s activities.
