A wave of religious persecution has gripped Syria, with reports of mass executions targeting Christian and Alawite communities. In just the past few days, more than 1,800 people have been killed, many in villages that have now been completely destroyed.
The situation deteriorated rapidly after Bashar al-Assad, who had used the Syrian Army to defend Christians from attacks, fled to Russia in December, following the overthrow of his government by Islamist forces. Ahmed al-Sharaa, the country’s interim leader, was installed in late January and has since overseen a brutal campaign against religious minorities.

Despite assurances of stability from the new leadership, the reality on the ground tells a different story. Armed fighters linked to Al Qaeda have been going door to door, rounding up Christian and Alawite families. Survivors report brutal killings, with men executed and women and children forced to flee for their lives.
Syrian Christians and Alawites are being slaughtered in Syria by soldiers of the ISIS/AlQaeda terrorist government. The death toll is 1800 in just the last few days, with many victims still missing. Christians are being massacred in Syria. Churches burned. Priests executed. Families wiped out. And the West is silent. This is the greatest Christian persecution of our time—and the media won’t tell you. Let’s expose the truth. 🧵👇 1/13 pic.twitter.com/m6GdNqvOZk

The response from the international community has been largely absent. The United Nations released a statement condemning “violence against civilians” but failed to acknowledge the clear targeting of Christians. Meanwhile, most Western media outlets have sidestepped the issue, framing the conflict as a broader political struggle rather than a campaign of religious cleansing.
While the warmongers cheer Assad being overthrown, Christians will now be persecuted under sharia law which has now been declared in Syria.
Damascus is one of the earliest places where Christianity began.
I’m praying for them. 🙏

Syria: A plea for the religious minorities – including Christians – in Latakia:
“Please. You’ve got to help us. . . . Most of the people in my village are dead. . . We are afraid for the little kids. . . . They are killing people randomly. . . .” pic.twitter.com/uNxB8YXAAk

Israel, which has the military strength to intervene, has also refrained from taking any steps to protect Syria’s Christians. Despite warnings about the dangers of an Islamist-led Syria, no aid or military action has been offered to those now facing extermination.
Syria: The situation is worse than most know.
“They are carrying out a massacre against the minorities . . . Villages, cities wiped out . . . The situation is 100 times worse than what you’re seeing on the media . . . Please stop this genocide." pic.twitter.com/e1Ywjeupac

Why is no one talking about Christians being murdered in Syria??? https://t.co/fXvxB4XHN0

As conditions worsen, Christian leaders in Syria continue to call for help, but their pleas remain unanswered. With nowhere to turn, thousands are fleeing into the mountains while others are being hunted down by Islamist forces determined to erase them from the country.
A special prayer for our Christian brethren in the Middle-East, and especially Syria 🙏🏻 pic.twitter.com/LOnGcemhDm

I'm not even gonna post the horrific pictures, but please pray for the Christians in Syria, the very place where Christ was born is in absolute turmoil right now, over 100 Christians slaughtered yesterday, thankfully we can know they are with their Lord and Savior now. pic.twitter.com/tcjvtLe4ea
