Congressman: DOJ And FBI ‘Will Lie to the American People’ And ‘Use The Dishonest Media’

Appearing on Newsmax’s “Rob Schmitt Tonight,” Rep. Troy Nehls (R-TX) asserted that the Department of Justice and the FBI “will lie to the American people” and “use the dishonest media” to push their lies — noting that the raid on the private home of former President Donald Trump has made this clear.

“They’ve been trying to destroy him,” the Texas congressman said. “They’ve been trying to take him down for the last five years. They haven’t been successful, and … they’re trying to do it again with this search of his beautiful home in Mar-a-Lago.”

“It’s all lies, and we know it. We know that the DOJ and FBI — they will lie to the American people,” Nehls added. “They use the dishonest media to carry this false narrative, this lie.”

The Texas Republican went on to cite the Russia Hoax, noting that the same intelligence agencies that investigated the former president for supposedly colluding with Russia were now targeting him for keeping classified documents at his home in Palm Beach, Florida.
According to Nehls, Attorney General Merrick Garland “and [FBI Director] Christopher Wray are all a part of this.”

“Shame on them for this. You know you had Garland note yesterday that, ‘Yeah, I was aware of it.’ Then 11 minutes of a press conference and didn’t say a damn thing, quite honestly,” he continued.

“They despise Donald Trump, and they don’t want him on the ballot in 2024,” Nehls added.
The GOP congressman also pointed out that the Department of Justice and the FBI “knew that Trump had documents inside his home,” citing their visits to Mar-a-Lago in February and June.

“What we do know, under the authority of the president, is that he can declassify these documents. And I believe that’s exactly what he did. He declassified these documents,” Nehls said.

In another appearance on Newsmax, the Texas congressman revealed that he had pressed Trump to announce his candidacy for president in 2024 “as soon as possible,” telling the former president “eliminate any doubt, sir.”
