Democrats Are Working Overtime To Dodge Inflation Responsibility

Inflation is a top-of-mind issue for many voters ahead of the November midterm elections. This is confirmed by polls covering the public’s views on not just inflation, but also the greater economy.

Pluralities of Americans report having to find additional jobs just to make ends meet. On top of this, people are overwhelmingly worried about their financial futures. They’re also in firm agreement that the economy is not “strong as hell,” as Biden claimed it was.

Though as the midterms wrap up, Democrats are doing all they can to duck conversations about inflation. The left doesn’t want to talk about it because it’s not politically expedient. However, inflation is a problem that’s crushing the average American citizen.

Pitiful Excuses From Top Democrats
In recent weeks, some Democrats have come out and admonished their party leaders for steering clear of inflation. Left-wingers expressing concerns include Rep. Ro Khanna (D-CA) and Rep. Elissa Slotkin (D-MI).

They’ve both gone on record and said the Democrat Party’s messaging on inflation should have been better and addressed the needs of Americans. Though party leaders still aren’t getting the message.

Just over the weekend, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) sat down for an interview with Face The Nation. When the matter of inflation came up, Pelosi completely downplayed it, alleging that all countries have inflation and this isn’t a focal point ahead of the midterms.

Finally, the House Speaker argued that “cost of living” is the true problem facing Americans. Yet, living expenses are directly impacted by inflation.

Joe Biden joins Pelosi in making excuses for the economy. He, too, is on record downplaying its effects.

In recent public statements, Biden even painted Democrats as the “fiscally responsible” ones and talked about the Trump-era economy as if it wasn’t a positive force for the country.

Nowhere to Hide
At this rate, Democratic leaders may choose not to be honest about inflation, but this isn’t something Americans will just forget about.

Rising prices are impossible to escape because they’re visible in Americans’ lives each day. Polls continue to show that most people trust Democrats far less than Republicans to handle inflation and bring down costs.

Inflation is a major reason why Democratic candidates who previously had momentum in their elections are now losing to Republicans. Without a GOP majority controlling Congress, inflation will only get worse.
