Former Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan is calling on federal officials to address a troubling rise in drone sightings, including dozens he observed Friday night over his home in Davidsonville, Maryland.
Hogan shared video footage of the drones, which he said he watched for 45 minutes. “Like many who have observed these drones, I do not know if this increasing activity over our skies is a threat to public safety or national security,” Hogan wrote on X.
Last night, beginning at around 9:45 pm, I personally witnessed (and videoed) what appeared to be dozens of large drones in the sky above my residence in Davidsonville, Maryland (25 miles from our nation’s capital). I observed the activity for approximately 45 minutes.

Residents in states like New Jersey and Connecticut have also reported unusual drone activity in recent weeks. However, White House officials, including National Security Communications Adviser John Kirby, have dismissed the concerns, suggesting the sightings may simply be misidentified aircraft lights.
Hogan rejected these explanations, calling the federal response inadequate. “We are being told that neither the White House, the military, the FBI, or Homeland Security have any idea what they are, where they came from, or who has launched or is controlling them — and that they pose no threat,” Hogan wrote. “That response is entirely unacceptable.”

Last year, drones swarmed Langley Air Force Base in Virginia for weeks, leaving officials puzzled over their purpose and origin. Similar incidents have sparked public concern along the East Coast.
Hogan’s statement underscores bipartisan calls for action, with Americans growing increasingly frustrated by the lack of transparency. “The American people deserve answers and action now,” he concluded.
The mystery remains unsolved, leaving communities anxious about the implications of these unexplained drone swarms.
