Hillary Clinton Compares ‘Ranting And Raving’ Trump To Adolf Hitler

Former first lady Hillary Clinton has resurfaced in recent days to echo President Joe Biden’s assertion that supporters of his predecessor represent an existential threat to the nation’s democracy.

In the wake of former President Donald Trump’s recent campaign-style rally in Ohio, Clinton addressed a crowd in Austin, Texas, and denounced the event with a startling comparison to Nazi Germany.

“I remember as a young student, you know, trying to figure out how people get basically brought in by Hitler,” she said. “How did that happen? I’d watch newsreels and I’d see this guy standing up there ranting and raving and people shouting and raising their arms. I thought, ‘What’s happened to these people?’”

From there, Clinton drew a clear line to Trump’s rally in support for U.S. Senate hopeful J.D. Vance, asserting: “We saw the rally in Ohio the other night. Trump is ranting and raving for more than an hour and you have these rows of young men with their arms raised.”

She went on to declare that “we’re in a struggle between democracy and autocracy.”

Trump spokesperson Taylor Budowich reacted to Clinton’s comments, accusing her of using “disgusting smears” to attack her 2016 presidential election rival.

“It seems like perpetual-failed-candidate Hillary Clinton’s basket of deplorables has run stale, not unlike herself,” he said. “It’s pathetic, it’s divisive, and it is further cementing her legacy of cringe.”

On the 21st anniversary of the 9/11 attacks earlier this month, Clinton similarly denounced Trump while praising a speech in which Biden railed against millions of Republicans who continue to support the former president.

“I give President Biden a lot of credit for trying to continue to reach out to people while still sounding the alarm about threats to our democracy,” she said during a CNN interview.

Clinton later applauded the president for supposedly “doing an amazing job trying to rebuild our manufacturing sector, trying to deal with climate change, expand healthy care, and all the other things — including trying to do something about gun violence — that the vast majority of Americans approve of.”

Echoing Biden’s harsh criticism of Trump supporters, she lamented that “there’s a small but very vocal, very powerful, very determined minority who wants to impose their views on all the rest of us.”
