Homan Vows To Prosecute NJ Governor If He Is Harboring Illegal Alien

President Donald Trump’s border czar, Tom Homan, is calling for an investigation into New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy after the Democrat appeared to admit he was harboring an illegal immigrant at his home. During a recent public forum, Murphy boasted that he had allowed someone without proper documentation to live above his garage and dared federal authorities to “try and get her.”

Homan, who has been tasked with enforcing Trump’s strict immigration policies, responded directly to Murphy’s comments during an appearance on Fox News’ Hannity. He made it clear that if Murphy was knowingly concealing an illegal immigrant, legal action would be pursued. “If he’s knowingly harboring and concealing an illegal alien, that’s a violation of Title 8, United States Code 1324. I will seek prosecution or the secretary will seek prosecution,” Homan stated.

Murphy’s remarks have sparked widespread backlash, especially as the Biden-era immigration crisis has led to increased crime and overwhelmed social services. ICE has ramped up deportation operations under Trump’s leadership, with more than 5,500 illegal immigrants already arrested in the administration’s latest crackdown. Murphy’s apparent defiance of federal law has placed him at the center of national controversy.

Following the public uproar, Murphy’s office attempted to walk back his comments, claiming that he had been “misinterpreted” and that the individual in question was actually a legal resident. However, the governor’s refusal to clarify why he initially challenged the federal government to intervene has only raised more concerns about his actions.

Homan also slammed sanctuary city policies, pointing to cases where criminals were released instead of being turned over to ICE. He argued that leaders who shield illegal immigrants from deportation are directly responsible for violent crimes committed by those released into the public. He specifically cited the case of Laken Riley, who was murdered by an illegal alien that could have been deported earlier if not for sanctuary city protections.

As the Biden-era immigration policies continue to be dismantled under Trump’s renewed leadership, officials like Murphy who openly defy federal law could face serious consequences. Homan’s warning signals that state leaders attempting to obstruct enforcement will not be ignored.
