On Wednesday, Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH), the chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, and Rep. Mike Turner (R-OH), the chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, called for 29 CIA officials involved in discrediting the New York Post’s coverage of Hunter Biden’s laptop to attend transcribed interviews and produce evidence supporting their false allegations.
The Republican legislators wrote to the CIA officials requesting their presence for recorded interviews and the submission of any “outstanding material.”
In the letters, the Republicans mentioned the officers’ dismissal of a New York Post report by Emma-Jo Morris that covered the Biden family’s involvement in foreign business affairs while Joe Biden was serving as a U.S. official. The infamous and now provably inaccurate letter was released in a Politico piece from Natasha Bertrand, entitled “Hunter Biden story is Russian disinfo, dozens of former intel officials say.”
As Breitbart News reported, numerous legacy media outlets, political personalities, and Democrat legislators invoked the Politico article, arguing it proved the Hunter Biden laptop discoveries to be a hoax, including allegations of corruption implicating Joe Biden.
“This request, to include a request for a transcribed interview before the Committees, remains outstanding. These documents and your testimony are necessary to further our oversight,” reads the lawmakers’ letter. “As we begin the 118th Congress, we write again to reiterate our outstanding request and ask that you immediately comply in full.”
“You have been on notice about our oversight request—and aware the request is outstanding—for months. For your convenience, we have attached the letter from the Judiciary Committee dated April 6, 2022. To date, you have not complied with this request. Accordingly, we reiterate our requests and ask that you comply promptly,” it added.
The letter comes as House Republicans are launching probes into alleged shady business conducted by the Biden family. Components of the House Oversight Committee investigation include alleged violations of the family business, such as money laundering and wire fraud. Subpoenas have not been issued as of yet.
Jordan is notably a proud supporter of former President Donald Trump and spoke highly of him last month as he delivered a speech at an Iowa fundraising event.
The Ohio representative made similar remarks during a sitdown with the former president’s son on his new show, “Triggered With Don Jr.”
“I’ve been for him since day one!” Jordan exclaimed.
