Since President Joe Biden refuses to secure the southern border, illegal immigrants are no longer trying to avoid arrest, knowing that the president will simply release them.
The U.S. Border Patrol reported a “new phenomenon” where illegal immigrants are turning themselves in to authorities without fear because of the Biden administration’s lax border policies.
Since Joe Biden took office in 2021, illegal border crossings have been skyrocketing!
2021: 1.7 million
2022: 2.3 million
2023: 3 million
Under Biden there have been single months with more illegals crossing our border than entire YEARS under Trump.
Just look at Trump's…

Such a revelation came amid congressional testimony from multiple Border Patrol officials between May and September 2023.
In May 2023, Chief Border Patrol Agent Aaron Heitke from the San Diego Sector reported that the surge in illegal immigrants accepting detainment instead of trying to escape authorities is a “more recent phenomenon.”
Border Patrol Agent Gloria Chavez of the Rio Grande Valley Sector in Texas echoed Heitke’s comments, telling the Homeland Security Committee in May 2023 that “a lot” of illegal immigrants traveling with their families had turned themselves over to officials.
In Arizona, too, a surge of illegal immigrants not evading arrest was seen.
Chief Border Patrol Agent John Modlin of the Tucson Sector in The Grand Canyon State told investigators in July 2023 that it’s “not uncommon now to see a group of 200 to 300 people giving themselves up, and they’re doing it in some of the most remote areas.”
Texas has had to tackle the illegal immigration crisis headfirst, with officials in the Lone Star State installing barbed wire in areas around the southern border to try and mitigate the issue.
In May 2023, Chief Border Patrol Agent Jason Owens of the Del Rio Sector in Texas reported that those crossing the border illegally are “predominantly turning themselves in,” adding that, at times, groups “in excess of 500 people” in his sector would patiently wait to be processed by authorities.
“There’s — for the majority of my career, I was chasing people that had crossed the border illegally. The phenomenon of having people turn themselves in, it’s happened, but not at the levels that I have been seeing in the last couple years,” Owens said.
House Security Committee Chairman Rep. Mark Green (R-TN) pointed the finger at Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas for the attitude illegal immigrants are developing about the U.S.’s policies.
“Secretary Mayorkas’ policies encourage lawbreaking to such a degree that record numbers of illegal aliens are actually turning themselves in to Border Patrol agents, expecting to be released, rather than trying to escape across the border uncaught,” the Tennessee congressman told the Daily Mail.
