An Internal Revenue Service (IRS) whistleblower leveled explosive allegations that federal prosecutors are intentionally stonewalling the criminal investigation of first son Hunter Biden.
Just The News reported that a letter was sent to congressional leaders from Mark Lytle, the whistleblower’s lawyer, revealing that he is capable and willing to provide detailed information. Through his attorney, the agent said he would give evidence to the congressional tax-writing committees.
For the record, the source is a decorated supervisory IRS agent. As for Lytle, he is a former federal prosecutor who represented former Twitter head of Trust and Safety Yoel Roth when he recently gave testimony to Congress.
The outlet said it independently confirmed that the probe was related to the younger Biden, even though Lytle’s letter did not refer to him by name. The probe the letter referenced is being conducted by Delaware U.S. Attorney David Weiss.
According to the writing, the IRS agent witnessed “preferential treatment and politics” implemented by the Department of Justice (DOJ) to thwart any serious attempts at prosecution. The implications are serious.

Attorney General Merrick Garland testified under oath that his department is not involved in the Hunter Biden investigation. He declared that Weiss’ office has complete control of the probe and may follow whatever leads are presented.
The letter, which was delivered to Republicans and Democrats alike, asserted that available disclosures contradict sworn testimony to Congress by a senior Biden administration official. It mentioned “clear conflicts of interest,” and “preferential treatment and politics” influencing decisions.
The president’s son has been under criminal investigation over tax matters since December 2020. According to Hunter Biden’s representative, in 2022 he paid past due tax bills totaling $2 million.
On Wednesday, House Oversight Committee Chairman Rep. James Comer (R-KY) promised an investigation into the allegations. The powerful congressman called it “deeply concerning” that the Biden White House may be involved in “obstructing justice.”
House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Jason Smith (R-MO) echoed Comer’s declaration. He vowed to sit with the whistleblower “promptly” and work to “better understand the scope and detail of the concerns raised.”
