JD Vance Confronts Protesters After They Frighten His 3-Year-Old

Vice President JD Vance condemned pro-Ukraine demonstrators on Saturday after they followed him and his young daughter, shouting and causing her distress. The confrontation, which took place during a family outing, was part of ongoing protests against the Trump administration’s handling of U.S.-Ukraine relations.

Vance recounted the experience in a post on X, stating, “Today while walking my 3 year old daughter a group of ‘Slava Ukraini’ protesters followed us around and shouted as my daughter grew increasingly anxious and scared.” He added that he approached the demonstrators, offering to speak with them in exchange for leaving his child alone.

Most protesters agreed to back off, and Vance said their conversation remained civil. However, he didn’t hold back in his criticism of their behavior. “If you’re chasing a 3-year-old as part of a political protest, you’re a s*** person,” he wrote.

The incident is part of a larger backlash against the Trump administration’s push to bring Ukraine to the negotiating table. The administration halted all military aid to Ukraine earlier this week, intensifying pressure on Zelensky to finalize a rare earth mineral agreement with the U.S.

Beyond targeting Vance in public, activists have gathered outside his Cincinnati home. Reports also indicate that he was confronted by protesters last weekend while taking his family on a ski trip in Vermont. Organizers claimed the demonstrations were a direct response to a contentious White House meeting between Trump, Vance and Zelensky.

Despite the protests, the administration’s diplomatic efforts appear to be yielding results. Zelensky has since expressed a willingness to sign the proposed deal in a format that aligns with U.S. interests.
