Sen. J.D. Vance (R-OH) has called Vice President Kamala Harris’s leadership into question, citing her campaign’s 92% staff turnover rate as a sign of incompetence. In a recent interview with Tucker Carlson, Vance criticized Harris’s inability to maintain a stable team, arguing that this is just one of many reasons why she should not become president.
Vance pointed out that such an unusually high turnover rate suggests deeper issues with Harris’ leadership abilities. “If 92% of your staff doesn’t want to work for you, that’s a pretty big red flag,” Vance said. He also expressed concern over how Harris would handle critical situations, particularly if war were to break out. He fears that Harris’s lack of clear direction and unstable support team could be disastrous in negotiations with foreign leaders.
Vance also previewed some of the challenges that he and President Donald Trump could face if they win in 2024. One significant issue will be implementing Trump’s proposed mass deportations, a policy that Vance said will be met with harsh resistance. He predicted that opponents would attempt to portray the policy as “fascism in America.”
Another challenge, according to Vance, is managing the bond markets. He explained that international investors and corporations that have benefited from outsourcing may attempt to disrupt a Trump administration by driving up bond rates. Vance stressed the importance of choosing the right treasury secretary to navigate these potential economic challenges.
Vance and Carlson will continue their conversation in Hershey, Pennsylvania, this weekend as part of Carlson’s live tour.
