Ken Paxton Sues Biden-Harris Over Voter Citizenship Verification In Texas

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton has filed a lawsuit against the Biden-Harris Administration, accusing them of violating federal law by refusing to verify the citizenship status of approximately 450,000 voters. The lawsuit alleges that the administration’s refusal to provide this information impedes Texas’ efforts to ensure that only eligible citizens are on the voter rolls.

Paxton’s office initially requested that the Department of Homeland Security provide verification for voters who registered without Texas-issued identification. This request, sent on October 7, aimed to confirm that all registered voters meet eligibility requirements. However, the federal government has reportedly failed to comply, leading Paxton to take legal action.

“The Biden-Harris Administration has refused to comply with federal law, presenting yet another obstacle for Texas to overcome in ensuring free and fair elections,” Paxton said. The Texas Secretary of State’s office is also participating in the lawsuit as a co-plaintiff.

This lawsuit highlights the ongoing struggle over election integrity in Texas, with Paxton emphasizing that the law must be followed to prevent ineligible individuals from voting. The case will now move to court, where its outcome could influence election procedures across the state.
