Left-Wing Billionaire Bankrolls Anti-Musk Movement

Liberal billionaire Pierre Omidyar, the French-American founder of Ebay, has been exposed for bankrolling the anti-Musk boycott Twitter movement. According to a recently updated list of grants disclosed by Omidyar’s foundation, Pierre Omidyar donated $509,500 to Accountable Tech in 2021 and 2022.

Accountable Tech is the group spearheading the corporate boycott campaign against Elon Musk, urging advertisers to ban the platform. The dark-money group has kept its donors anonymous for almost a year.

Accountable Tech, which claims to be a small nonprofit taking on Big Tech companies who don’t align with their values, operates without a physical office and is a registered trade name of the North Fund, a non-profit group worth $66 million. The North Fund uses various aliases to advocate for a range of left-wing causes.

In addition, Omidyar donated $2 million to at least six organizations that targeted Elon Musk, with some of them publishing letters and op-eds that called Musk out as unsuitable for running a social media platform, claiming Musk would make Twitter a breeding ground for ideas that conflict with their liberal agendas.

It is ironic that Omidyar is associated with the anti-Musk campaign, given the personal history between the two billionaires. As the founder of eBay, Omidyar played a pivotal role in catapulting Musk into the league of super-wealthy individuals when he acquired PayPal for $1.5 billion in 2002. Musk’s wealth has since grown exponentially, propelling him to the top of the Forbes billionaire list.

However, the two tech titans are currently at odds on political issues, placing them on opposing sides of the ideological spectrum. Regrettably, these days, anyone who challenges far-left dogma must contend with repercussions such as those faced by Musk, and it’s no surprise that his political opponents have turned up the heat after Musk exposed Twitter’s past abuse of the platform where they censored content that didn’t align with woke agendas.

It will be interesting to see what becomes of this battle between the two billionaires. Pierre Omidyar has an estimated net worth of around $15 billion. He is ranked among the wealthiest people in the world, with nearly three times the wealth
