Two leftist lawyers are attempting to overturn the results of the 2024 election by urging Congress to disqualify President-elect Donald Trump under the 14th Amendment. Evan Davis and David Schulte’s proposal ignores the will of the American people and twists the Constitution to achieve political ends.
The lawyers allege that Trump engaged in “insurrection,” despite no legal conviction to support the claim. They point to his second impeachment trial, which ended in acquittal, as evidence.

Their second argument, based on the Colorado Supreme Court’s disqualification of Trump, was invalidated by the U.S. Supreme Court, which ruled that states cannot bar federal candidates.

Finally, they rely on findings from the January 6 Committee, a panel discredited by evidence of witness tampering and fabricated testimonies. The House Oversight Committee has since determined that Trump neither incited violence nor encouraged chants of “Hang Mike Pence!”

The lawyers’ plan involves using the Electoral Count Act to reject Trump’s votes and declare Kamala Harris president. This brazen attempt to bypass voters is a direct assault on democracy and the rule of law.
