Contrary to what some liberal outlets may suggest, the recently released film “Sound of Freedom” is not about QAnon conspiracy theories or white supremacy.

Instead, it delves into the harrowing realm of child trafficking — an issue that certain factions on the left have actively sought to suppress. During an interview on CNN, host Abby Phillip invited Mike Rothschild to discuss the movie, but his intent appeared to be fearmongering Americans into avoiding it.
Rothschild claimed the film exploited a “moral panic” and drew upon “QAnon concepts.” He went further to accuse Jim Caviezel, the lead actor portraying DHS agent Tim Ballard, of embracing QAnon theories, particularly those related to the alleged consumption of children’s blood for a substance called “adrenochrome.”
“He’s openly using its catchphrases and its concepts. He’s speaking at QAnon conventions. And this film is being marketed to either specific QAnon believers or people who believe all of the same tenets as QAnon but claim they don’t know what it is,” Rothschild asserted.
However, it is important to note that the movie is based on true events, and its purpose is to shed light on a dark reality. Child trafficking remains a pressing concern, with millions of children being trafficked daily worldwide.
In 2013, Tim Ballard left his position as a DHS special agent to establish Operation Underground Railroad, an organization dedicated to rescuing trafficked children from the clutches of slavery and exploitation. Ballard emphasizes that child trafficking is the fastest-growing criminal enterprise globally, generating an astonishing $150 billion in illicit profits each year.
In light of Rothschild’s comments, it is worth considering CNN’s own track record. The network has had its share of journalists involved in child exploitation crimes, including former producer John Griffin, who received a 19-year prison sentence for his online coercion of a woman to bring her nine-year-old daughter to Vermont to engage in erotic behavior.
“Sound of Freedom” offers a poignant portrayal of the fight against child trafficking, with a narrative rooted in real statistics and genuine fear for the safety and well-being of countless innocent children. While critics may attempt to dismiss its significance, the urgency and scale of this issue demand our attention and action.
In a world where children are victimized daily, it is crucial to break through the noise and confront the uncomfortable truths. “Sound of Freedom” serves as a poignant reminder that the fight against child trafficking is far from over and that awareness, empathy, and action are vital for meaningful change.
