Joe Biden’s Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas responded to the news that the Supreme Court had ordered Title 42 enforcement to remain in place on Tuesday by calling for legal amnesty for the untold millions of illegal aliens already inside the country.
The Supreme Court issued a 5-4 ruling Tuesday that requires the Biden administration to maintain enforcement of the Title 42 public health order put in place by President Donald Trump at the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. That policy directs border law enforcement agents to immediately return asylum seekers to Mexico to await hearings in federal immigration court.

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) responded to the Supreme Court order through an official statement by Mayorkas. He urged Congress to immediately pass the amnesty and mass migration open borders plan called for by Biden while Title 42 remains in effect.
Mayorkas wrote: “We will continue to manage the border, but we do so within the constraints of a decades-old immigration system that everyone agrees is broken. We need Congress to pass the comprehensive immigration reform legislation President Biden proposed the day he took office.”
Biden’s amnesty plan dates to his first days in office. He called on Congress to pass legislation that would immediately grant permanent legal residency to as many as an estimated 22 million illegal aliens who have made their way into the United States over past years. His plan also lays out rules for much more liberal immigration policies that would immediately increase the legal importation of foreign workers who would compete directly with Americans for domestic jobs.
Mayorkas and Biden have consistently attempted to blame Congress for the border crisis that is being maintained through White House administrative policy. Mayorkas has forced Border Patrol agents to work as immigration clerks as they are now overwhelmed with processing thousands of illegal migrants every week for release into the country.
Even though the Biden White House typically says it inherited a “broken and dismantled immigration system” from President Trump, that is demonstrably untrue. For example, the Trump administration’s heaviest year for illegal migration was 2019, which saw only one-third of the number of illegal border crossings in fiscal year 2022.
