As many of the most radical LGBT activists in American continue to insist that young children should be exposed to scantily clad drag performances and explicit depictions of sexual acts, a growing number of traditional Americans have spoken out against the effort to target kids with this deeply controversial agenda.
Participants in the “Drag March” recently held in Manhattan only inflamed the backlash by asserting that they were “coming for your children.”
While most mainstream media outlets instinctively ignored the provocative chant, NBC attempted to defend those who shouted it.
For starters, the outlet claimed that most of the marchers were only saying “we’re not going shopping” but “one voice that is louder than the crowd” repeated the incendiary reference to “coming for your children.”
Despite insisting that most of the marchers in the video were not shouting the offensive chant, NBC dutifully defended those who did. The article included remarks from Brian Griffin, who organized the march and claimed that those in the LGBT community are the real victims.
“It’s all just words,” he said. “It’s all presented to fulfill their worst stereotypes of us.”
In a widely mocked tweet linking to its article, NBC essentially told critics of the chant to relax because LGBT activists have been bragging about “coming for your children” for many years.
“The ‘coming for your children’ chant has been used for years at Pride events, according to longtime march attendees and gay rights activists, who said it’s one of many provocative expressions used to regain control of slurs against LGBTQ people,” the ostensible news organization tweeted.
Not only was the tweet followed up by “community notes” that cast doubt on claims that the chant has been used extensively in the past, but many critics asserted that NBC’s reporting would not assuage their concern even if it was true.

At least one of the drag performers who heard the chant described it as a “dumb idea,” adding: “I started chanting on top of it with alternate verses.”
Last year’s Drag March also featured controversial chants, including one that directly referenced the “groomer” label that some conservatives use to describe certain LGBT activists.
“Ten percent is not enough,” participants shouted. “Groom! Groom! Groom!”
