The new Congress got off to a fast start this week on abortion-related legislation in the wake of the end of Roe v. Wade last year. House Democrats have demanded a floor vote on their bill that would provide a federal right to abortion through birth in every state. House Republicans are using their new majority power to instead pass two measures protecting the unborn from being killed.
The first GOP bill is named the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act. The legislation is designed to require medical professionals to provide life-saving care to babies who survive attempted abortions. In addition, it makes it a federal crime for an abortionist to fail to administer proper care and treatment for such babies.
House Democrats responded to the bill by defending the ghoulish practice of dismembering delivered babies from failed abortions to kill them outside the womb. Media figures and Democrat leadership directed their members to vote against the bill, describing it as “extremist, dangerous, and unnecessary.
THIS IS SICK AF!!!

Democrat Sheila Jackson defends partial birth abortions, in which the abortionist “deliberately and intentionally vaginally delivers a living fetus until…the entire fetal head is outside the mother’s body” before snipping the baby’s neck.

The second Republican measure is a House resolution that condemns the many violent attacks, firebombings and acts of vandalism against pro-life pregnancy centers that have taken place since at least the time of the draft opinion in Dobbs v. Jackson was leaked last year. Of course, that decision reversed Roe when it was eventually officially handed down last June. The decision returns the decision of regulation or prohibition of abortion to each state individually.
The resolution calls on the White House, the FBI, Attorney General Merrick Garland and the Department of Justice (DOJ) to “take action now to bring the perpetrators to justice.” Federal law enforcement has ignored the violence against pro-life actors while targeting them over peaceful protests against killing unborn children.
My @HouseGOP resolution on the floor today is simple and important.

Rep. Mike Johnson (R-LA) proposed the resolution and asked from the House floor on Wednesday: “Who could be opposed to that?”
Of course, Democrats were vigorously opposed. Their zeal to promote abortion on demand everywhere overrides any concern about political violence against American citizens.
Neither Republican measure would work to limit abortion in any state that allows the procedure. That contrasts with earlier proposals to introduce a bill to ban abortions nationwide after the 15th week of pregnancy. That did not stop Democrats and the compliant corporate media from smearing Republicans for taking any steps to support and protect the unborn.
For example, the Washington Post breathlessly wrote: “House Republicans turn their attention to restricting abortion rights.”
Analysts estimate that at least 10,000 children have been saved from abortion nationwide since the Dobbs decision was issued last year.
