New York City Still Hasn’t Learned Its Lesson

New York City has made one disastrous decision after the next at every move.

Last year, the city implemented a COVID vaccine passport program that bars unvaccinated people from getting service or participating in everyday society. New York City doesn’t see any problems with this, even though these mandates aren’t stopping COVID infection or spread whatsoever.

In 2020, New York City also made the error of defunding the police. Slashing funds for the New York Police Department subsequently led to newfound spikes in crime. Between his and vaccine passport programs, it’s no wonder the Empire State is one of the places with the most outbound residents.

This past Friday marked the shooting of two police officers, with one of them passing away. New York City Mayor Eric Adams believes the answer to this is the almighty gun control, as covered by Breitbart News.

In reaction to the Friday shooting of police, the Democrat mayor of New York City called upon federal action to stop guns from making their way into the community. Adams was also sure to note that in New York City, there aren’t any manufacturers of guns.

Adams also made it a point to note that leaders have “failed” if criminals manage to get their hands on weapons and then turn them against law-abiding community members.

However, mayor Adams didn’t mention that his city has some of the heaviest gun control laws on the books. Yet, with all these anti-gun measures, they’re still not stopping criminals from getting ahold of firearms and using them to terrorize the community.

It should send a message that gun control isn’t the answer here. However, the mayor of New York City and other Democrats would rather keep digging in their heels on failed policies.

As long as Democrats continue to behave as if gun control is the end-all, be-all to stopping crime, they’re going to be disappointed. New York is far from the only example that highlights gun control failure.

Chicago, the city, also has some of the strictest gun control laws on the books. However, these laws repeatedly fail to stop countless people from getting mowed down by criminals with firearms every weekend.

Interestingly enough, New York and Illinois made the top list of states that Americans fled in 2021. It also makes logic when you think about it.

Growing numbers of people realize it does them no good to remain in communities that suppress their Second Amendment rights while simultaneously leaving them as sitting ducks to criminals with no regard for gun control laws.
