On TikTok Schiff Complains About His Removal From Intelligence Committee

On TikTok, Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) complained about getting kicked off of the House Intelligence Committee (HIC).

House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) booted Schiff and Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA) off of the committee, citing national security concerns.

House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) sent a letter to the speaker asking for the approval of Reps. Schiff and Swalwell to serve on the Intel Committee.

In response, the speaker stated:

“I appreciate the loyalty you have to your Democrat colleagues, and I acknowledge your efforts to have two Members of Congress reinstated to the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence,” he said.

“But I cannot put partisan loyalty ahead of national security, and I cannot simply recognize years of service as the sole criteria for membership to this essential committee. Integrity matters more,” he added.

McCarthy focused on Schiff’s role in the investigation of Former President Donald Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign and whether it colluded with Russia.

“You have Adam Schiff, who lied to the American public time and again — we will not allow him to be on the Intel Committee,” McCarthy said

On the social media app, the Democratic congressman announced his removal.

“Today Kevin McCarthy removed me from the House Intelligence Committee,” he said.

“All for doing my job holding Trump accountable and standing up to the extreme MAGA Republicans,” Schiff added.

Considering that TikTok is a Chinese-owned company with direct relations to the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), the congressman should not have used the application.

Real Clear Investigations Senior Writer Mark Hemingway responded to the news, stating that TikTok was not the best place for Adam Schiff to outline his grievances.

“He’s so invested in America’s national security he’s… whining about it on a Chinese espionage site,” he said.

Special Advisor for Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX), Steve Guest, outlined Schiff’s hypocrisy considering he used a Chinese platform to complain about getting kicked off an American intel committee.

Moreover, Former CIA Director and Secretary of State Mike Pompeo blasted Rep. Adam Schiff after he was removed from the HIC.

The former secretary of state said that the House speaker was “exactly right” in his decision to remove Adam Schiff from the committee.

Pompeo took issue with the congressman, arguing that he should be nowhere near classified information.

“When we provided information to him and to his staff, it ended up in places it shouldn’t have been with alarming regularity,” Pompeo explained. “In the end, I decided, I held back information from them as a result.”

Schiff’s colleague, Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) was also removed from the House Foreign Affairs Committee.
