Officer David Lee’s death at the hands of an illegal immigrant is yet another consequence of the Biden-Harris administration’s lax border policies. Lee was killed while performing his duty as a police officer on Interstate 70 in St. Louis, struck by a speeding vehicle driven by Ramon Chavez-Rodriguez, an illegal immigrant with a criminal history.
Chavez-Rodriguez, who was on probation for domestic assault and a previous DWI, was driving without a license and under the influence of alcohol when he hit Officer Lee. He has since been charged with multiple crimes, including the death of a law enforcement officer.
While the Biden-Harris administration continues to insist that illegal immigration is under control, the statistics paint a different picture. In Texas alone, between 2011 and 2024, over 312,000 illegal immigrants were arrested for violent crimes, including over 1,600 murders and 9,300 sexual assaults. These numbers tell a grim story of the crime wave associated with illegal immigration, yet the administration has done little to stem the tide.
Had the federal government enforced border security and deportation laws, Officer Lee might still be alive today. His tragic death, alongside many others, underscores the dangerous consequences of the administration’s open-border policies. Americans are being forced to live with the fallout of a border crisis that is out of control, while criminals, who should never have been in the country in the first place, continue to claim lives.
