President Trump To Reinstall Iconic Diet Coke Button On Day One

As the White House prepares for the second term of President Donald Trump, the Oval Office will once again feature a unique fixture from his first administration — the Diet Coke button. Known for his devotion to the beverage, Trump is reportedly planning to have the button reinstalled on his desk immediately upon returning to office.

Trump’s love for Diet Coke is no secret, with reports indicating he drinks up to 12 cans daily. During his first term, the button was used to summon staff to deliver the drink, and it will make its comeback as part of a swift turnover process on January 20.

White House staff, consisting of approximately 100 non-political employees, will handle the transition between the Biden and Trump administrations. These workers, who include butlers, maids, cooks, and housekeepers, remain in their roles regardless of the president, ensuring a seamless changeover. The transition will take just a few hours, during which the staff will unpack the Trump family’s belongings, stock the kitchens with their favorite foods, and prepare the residence.

“It’s easier because they’ve lived there before,” said Kate Anderson Brower, author of The Residence. “There aren’t any mysteries about what [the Trumps] would like to have for breakfast, how they operate, [or] what kind of shampoo they use.”

Trump’s return comes after a campaign trail filled with high-energy events and unconventional stops. The president, who claimed to have lost 15 pounds during the campaign, often grabbed meals on the go. In one memorable instance, he worked a McDonald’s fryer and drive-thru while rallying supporters. “There’s so little time to be eating,” Trump remarked.

The Diet Coke button’s reinstatement is just one of the personal touches marking Trump’s return to the Oval Office. White House staff, praised for their professionalism and neutrality, are ready to make the transition smooth for the incoming administration.
