Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) has committed to pushing President-elect Donald Trump’s cabinet nominees through the Senate with urgency. As the new chair of the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs, Paul aims to secure several confirmations in the first week of Trump’s term.
Speaking to Maria Bartiromo on Fox News’ “Sunday Morning Futures,” Paul shared his enthusiasm for Trump’s appointees. “I couldn’t be happier with his nominees. I couldn’t have picked better,” he said, adding that his committee would act quickly to advance them.
Looking forward to confirming Trumps nominees. I couldn't have picked better. Some of them are exactly who I would have picked.@TulsiGabbard, @DrJBhattacharya, @MartyMakary, @RobertKennedyJr, and @PeteHegseth are all great choices. pic.twitter.com/XpZe8eJL9b

Paul also stirred discussion by suggesting Elon Musk as a potential Speaker of the House, noting the position does not require congressional membership. While acknowledging the comment was partly tongue-in-cheek, Paul commended Musk for his focus on fiscal accountability.
Recently, Paul joined a bipartisan group of senators, including Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT), in voting against a spending bill. The opposition centered on concerns about unnecessary federal expenditures.
