House Oversight Committee Chairman Rep. James Comer (R-KY) has hinted at the possibility of a criminal referral for President Joe Biden, following the referrals sent to Attorney General Merrick Garland on Wednesday for Biden’s son Hunter and brother Jim.
During an appearance on Fox News’ “Sunday Morning Futures,” Comer discussed the ongoing investigations into the Biden family’s alleged corruption and influence peddling.
When pressed by host Maria Bartiromo about potential criminal referrals for various crimes, including FARA violations, money laundering, corruption, and influence peddling, Comer acknowledged that many of the crimes committed by the Bidens have exceeded the statute of limitations. However, he emphasized that the investigation is ultimately focused on Joe Biden, with Hunter Biden, Jim Biden, Eric Sherwin, and Devon Archer serving as witnesses.
Comer noted that the recently sent criminal referrals are within the five-year statute of limitations, meaning that if Merrick Garland’s DOJ fails to take appropriate action, the next administration and a new attorney general can pursue the matter. He also referenced a 60-page report accompanying the criminal referrals, which he claimed contained hard evidence that has not been disputed.
When asked if a criminal referral against Joe Biden for money laundering could be expected, Comer responded, “I think that it’s no secret Joe Biden’s committed many crimes.” He further hinted at an imminent interim report that will update the public on the crimes allegedly committed by Biden and his administration throughout the investigation and during the Obama-Biden administration.
