Senator Manchin To Run For President In 2024

Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) could be eyeing a possible run for the White House in 2024 after he refused to say if he would be running.

NBC’s Meet the Press host Chuck Todd asked Manchin during an interview if he would run for the White House as a Democrat. Manchin refused to give a straight while stating that he has not made a decision yet. He, however, revealed that the possibility of running in 2024 is in full swing.

“I haven’t made a decision on what I’m going to do in 2024,” Manchin said. “I got two years ahead of me now to do the best I can for my state and the country,” Manchin said.

When asked if he would seek reelection or run for West Virginia governor, Manchin answered that everything “was on the table” except for running for governor, which he had already done in the past.

Manchin also declined to provide an answer when asked if he would run in 2024 as a Democrat but noted that he is strongly considering leaving the political left.

When asked if he would support President Joe Biden if he sought reelection in 2024, Manchin refused to give a straight answer.

“He has to make a decision,” Manchin said. “I think that is a personal decision. I haven’t decided on anything I’m going to do until I see what the lay of the land is going to be at that time.”

Despite Biden’s failure in areas such as the economy, immigration and inflation, Manchin said he thinks the president has done a great job.

“I think he (Biden) has been pulled to the left so far and I think I’ve told him that. I have been upfront with that, Manchin added. “That center is what the country wants. It’s what the people want in America. They want us to work out of the center.”
