Smith & Wesson Highlights Facebook Bias, Applauds Elon Musk For Free Speech

Smith & Wesson took to X to thank Elon Musk for his commitment to free speech after Facebook suspended its account in what it described as yet another attack on pro-Second Amendment voices. The American gunmaker’s account was suspended on November 22 after 15 years on the platform.

In a statement posted to X, Smith & Wesson criticized Facebook’s ever-changing community guidelines, which they say unfairly target firearm-related content. The company commended Musk for maintaining X as a bastion of free speech and constitutional rights.

“In an era where free speech and the right to bear arms are under constant attack, we want to thank @elonmusk and @X for supporting free speech and our constitutional rights guaranteed by the 1st and 2nd Amendments,” the post read.

Elon Musk responded directly, writing, “We restored the gun emoji and believe in the Constitution,” reinforcing his stance on freedom of expression.

The National Association for Gun Rights also weighed in, praising X as one of the last platforms where Second Amendment advocates can express their views freely. “X is one of the last major bastions of 2A and Firearms content on social media,” the group stated.

Although Facebook parent company Meta claimed the suspension was a mistake and restored the account, critics argue that such “errors” disproportionately affect conservative voices.

Founded in 1852 and based in Maryville, Tennessee, Smith & Wesson remains a cornerstone of America’s firearm industry. The company reiterated its mission to protect the freedoms enshrined in the Declaration of Independence and the Bill of Rights.

This latest incident underscores the increasing scrutiny and restrictions faced by pro-Second Amendment voices on many social media platforms, with X standing out as a defender of free expression under Musk’s leadership.
