Texas Border Town Doctor Pleads With Biden: Halt ‘Grossly Irresponsible’ Policies Until COVID Surge Contained

A prominent family physician in a border city in Texas has requested the Biden administration to halt all border activity this week in light of his community’s worrisome spike of COVID-19 cases. Many mainstream media claim the surge in COVID cases across the country can’t be tied to the southern border. Moreover, the frequency of coronavirus cases along the border between the United States and Mexico is increasing. A rising number of healthcare practitioners in surrounding communities are becoming increasingly concerned about the welfare of their patients. However, some blame the increase on the influx of immigrants, while others believe it is the government’s responsibility. Dr. Antonio Falcon reportedly claimed that the rise in cases in their region is directly related to the number of people exposed to the virus when crossing the border.

Furthermore, since February, more than 7,000 migrants have been released into the community of McAllen, Texas. Law authorities approached a family at a restaurant for coughing and sneezing without covering their lips. The family later reported that they were arrested by Border Patrol but released immediately. People have become so absorbed in the Covid-19 cloud that they have forgotten about other infectious diseases that should be of concern.

According to a union representative, Border Patrol employees are concerned about their health. Chris Cabrera explained that the Border Patrol has to let COVID-positive individuals into the United States day in and day out. Additionally, the vice president of the National Border Patrol Council referred to the incident as “grossly irresponsible.”

However, it was reported that there is no control over mass migration at the moment, and the community’s response is just irresponsible. Consequently, the Department of Homeland Security reacted through a spokeswoman for Customs and Border Protection. The people in CBP detention who show indications of sickness are transferred to local health institutions for proper evaluation and treatment.
