Trump And Harris To Face Off In Fox News Debate On September 4

Former President Donald Trump announced he has accepted a Fox News invitation to debate Vice President Kamala Harris. The highly anticipated event will take place on September 4 in Pennsylvania. Trump had initially been scheduled to debate President Joe Biden on ABC News, but that event was canceled due to Trump’s ongoing lawsuit against the network and host George Stephanopoulos.

“I have agreed with Fox News to debate Kamala Harris on Wednesday, September 4th,” Trump posted on Truth Social. “The debate was previously scheduled against Sleepy Joe Biden on ABC, but has been terminated as Biden will no longer participate. I am in litigation against ABC Network and George Stephanopoulos, creating a conflict of interest.”

Fox News anchors Bret Baier and Martha MacCallum will moderate the debate. The format will be similar to the June CNN debate between Trump and Biden, but this time there will be a live audience.

Harris was recently declared the Democratic Party’s presidential nominee after Biden decided to end his re-election campaign. She had previously challenged Trump to a debate, but Trump stated he would only accept once she was formally nominated.

“As everyone knows, the Democrats have unconstitutionally taken a candidate, who was acknowledged to be defeated, and replaced him with a new candidate,” Trump wrote. “This has never been done before, and is a threat to democracy, but I am prepared to accept the results and replace Joe on the debate stage with Crazy Kamala Harris.”

Despite his frustrations, Trump is confident, stating, “Nevertheless, different candidate or not, their bad policies are the same, and this will be strongly revealed at the September 4th debate. I look forward to meeting and debating Kamala Harris on September 4th. This date is convenient and appropriate as it is just before the September 6th start of early voting in the 2024 Presidential Election. I look forward to seeing everyone on September 4th, in the great Commonwealth of Pennsylvania!”
