Trump Border Czar Outlines Ambitious Deportation Plan

President-elect Donald Trump’s border czar, Tom Homan, has unveiled an ambitious plan to execute the largest deportation operation in the nation’s history. During a CNN interview, Homan urged Congress to approve funding for additional resources, including 100,000 beds to detain migrants awaiting deportation.

“We need Congress to give us some money to get this done,” Homan said, emphasizing the scale of the proposed operation. While specifics remain unclear, Homan acknowledged the need for substantial transportation contracts and detention facilities.

Homan stated that the effort aligns with voter expectations, arguing that Trump’s victory reflects public support for stronger immigration enforcement. “The American people voted for this,” he said, calling for swift action from Congress.

The operation, which could cost upwards of $86 billion, includes plans for ICE officers to conduct enforcement actions nationwide beginning on Jan. 20, Trump’s first day in office. Military aircraft will be used to transport deportees to their home countries, though the military will not assist in arrests.

Homan explained that the operation’s success depends on Congressional funding. “The more deportation officers I have, the more migrants we can detain and deport,” he said. He also stressed the economic benefits of reducing federal assistance to undocumented migrants.

This plan comes as Trump has promised to take a hardline approach to immigration, including threatening to cut economic ties with nations that refuse to accept deportees. Homan’s role will involve coordinating logistics for the massive effort.
