Trump Considers White House Advisory Role For Musk Amid Thawing Relationship

President Donald Trump is reportedly thinking about appointing tech mogul Elon Musk to be an advisor in his administration after the 2024 election. While the two have gone at it in the past, the chilly relationship between the two has apparently thawed in recent months.
Now, the two are engaging in direct phone calls “several times a month.”

Trump and Musk have discussed subjects including immigration, technology, science and the U.S. Space Force. Trump has been seeking support from backers for his campaign and although Musk may not provide financial backing his significant impact on social platforms could influence voters to lean towards Trump.

Senior Trump adviser Brian Hughes told The Post that the former president will be the sole decision-maker regarding individual roles in his presidency. However, he acknowledged that many influential leaders in technology and innovation are concerned about the impact of Biden’s economic policies and regulatory burdens on their industry.

Musk, who has painted himself as largely independent, has previously stated he would not financially contribute to either candidate’s campaign. The South African-born billionaire, who became a U.S. citizen in 2002, has been openly critical of Biden’s policies.
