Trump’s DOGE Blocks USAID Officials As Headquarters Goes Into Lockdown

President Donald Trump’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), under the leadership of Elon Musk, has shut down the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), locking out officials and sealing off the agency’s headquarters. The move has left entrenched bureaucrats scrambling as DOGE continues to dismantle Deep State strongholds.

DOGE agents took complete control of USAID’s internal systems, locking out more than 600 employees overnight and freezing financial operations. Two top security officials, including Director of Security John Voorhees, attempted to block DOGE’s access to classified data but were placed on leave. By the next morning, yellow police tape surrounded the headquarters, barring any return to normal operations.

Musk took to X to declare that USAID was a “criminal organization” and confirmed that Trump had fully approved DOGE’s efforts. The White House released a statement calling out the agency’s history of unchecked spending, citing billions of taxpayer dollars spent on DEI initiatives, electric vehicle projects, and left-wing activism instead of direct aid.

Further investigations have linked USAID to Burisma, the Ukrainian energy company tied to Hunter Biden, as well as efforts to fund legal attacks against Trump. Republicans argue that the agency’s $40 billion budget has long been used to fuel political and bureaucratic corruption instead of supporting real humanitarian efforts.

Democratic lawmakers and federal employee unions have launched lawsuits, claiming that DOGE gained access to sensitive records without authorization. Senate Democrats have pressed Secretary of State Marco Rubio for answers on how DOGE managed to take over USAID’s systems and shut down its leadership.

With USAID’s website and records taken offline, reports suggest that the agency may be merged into the State Department, stripping it of its independence. As DOGE continues to root out corruption, the Deep State’s grip on Washington appears to be slipping further.
