“One by one, with increasing speed, our old taboos have been struck down,” said Carlson. While societal norms naturally evolve, Carlson criticizes what he sees as an artificial manipulation of these standards, where new mandates on what is acceptable or unacceptable are dictated from above, sometimes forcefully.
