Anti-Police Democrat Wants Crackdown After Becoming A Victim

A Democratic leader in Minnesota who called for dismantling the Minneapolis Police Department had a powerful conversion experience. She was subjected to a violent carjacking that left her battered and bloodied.

Shivanthi Sathanandan is endorsing a police crackdown on youths who prey on innocent citizens from the very same people she strongly opposed at the height of the violent George Floyd riots.

Sathanandan is the vice chairwoman of the Minnesota Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party. In June 2020, she posted on social media, “We are going to dismantle the Minneapolis Police Department. Say it with me.”

That narrative experienced a dramatic turn Tuesday evening when she was attacked in the driveway of her Minneapolis home. What were described as four very young men battered Sathanandan in front of her children.

They were all carrying guns in broad daylight and even held her neighbors at gunpoint when they ran to her assistance.

Sathanandan posted a picture of her bloodied face on Facebook and described the incident. “Look at my face in the picture. This is the face of a mother who just got the [expletive] beaten out of her.”

She said her only thought was to run far and fight hard enough to keep her children out of danger. This was a noble and understandable reaction that any concerned parent would share.

Sathanandan suffered what she described as a broken leg, severe head lacerations, bruising and cuts all over her body. She also said she now had “rage.”

The Democrat briefly mentioned getting “illegal guns” out of circulation but then settled into a declaration that showed the clarity getting violently attacked can provide.

Sathanandan said law enforcement needs to “catch these young people who are running wild creating chaos in our city and HOLD THEM IN CUSTODY AND PROSECUTE THEM. Look at my face.”

The political leader urged the public to remember her “when you are thinking about supporting letting juveniles and young people out of custody to roam our streets instead of HOLDING THEM ACCOUNTABLE FOR THEIR ACTIONS.”

Longtime Philadelphia Mayor Frank Rizzo once quipped that a conservative is simply a liberal who got mugged the night before. His wisdom still apparently holds true for at least one radical leftist who had a sudden change of heart.
