Rep. Kat Cammack (R-FL) has announced her plan to introduce legislation banning any foreign flag from being waved inside Congress, which came in response to the strong backlash Democrats faced for waving dozens of tiny Ukraine flags on the House floor after voting to send more of Americans’ hard-earned tax dollars to fund the never-ending Ukraine-Russia war.
On Friday, establishment Republicans sided with their Democrat colleagues in sending a staggering $61 billion in aid to Ukraine — which happened thanks to House Speaker Mike Johnson’s (R-LA) flip-flop in the issue, as he previously stated that he would not bring any foreign aid packages to the floor without first passing strong border security legislation.
Mike Johnson told us REPEATEDLY no Ukraine money without border security. We've gotten the exact opposite.
He came out with 4 bills:
$61 billion for Ukraine
$26 billion for Israel
$8 billion for Taiwan

After the House voted successfully on the foreign aid packages, including $300 million to fund Ukraine’s Border Patrol but zero dollars to address the U.S.-Mexico border, Democrat lawmakers began passing out Ukrainian flags to their colleagues — who began waving them in the air while chanting “Ukraine” repeatedly.
Ukrainian flags fly in the chamber of the UNITED STATES House of Representatives as they vote to send more of your hard-earned money to a corrupt foreign regime. And just like that they shout “UKRAINE! UKRAINE!”while happily working to secure Ukraine’s borders, not ours. pic.twitter.com/ZXZo1kliNl

This display stunned many Americans, who pointed out that most of these Democrats likely had never chanted the name of their own country or waved the American flag in Congress.
I don’t think I’ve ever seen the American flag waved by multiple members of Congress on the House floor, yet here they are waving the Ukraine flag.
Clear to see where US politician’s interests lie. https://t.co/FrGKG7pqc5

In response to this un-American display, Cammack announced in a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, that she would be introducing a bill that would ensure that this would not happen again without consequences.
“Watching American representatives pass out & wave Ukrainian flags in the United States House of Representatives chamber infuriated me,” the Florida congresswoman wrote. “As we speak, my team is drafting legislation that will prohibit the display of foreign nations’ flags on the House floor.”

While Johnson did break his promises and betray his constituents by pushing the Ukraine aid package through, he did admonish his Democrat colleagues for their display — declaring that waving the Ukrainian flags was “in violation of decorum.”
“These are not normal times here in the House or around the world, as we all know,” the House Speaker later told reporters after the vote. “And, we saw a disturbance here on the House floor just a bit ago. I just want to say simply what I think most people around the country understand and agree, we should only wave one flag on the House floor. And I think we know which flag that is.”
Meanwhile, Democrats don’t seem to care about the implications of their shocking display — even refusing to denounce Rep. Bill Pascrell (D-NJ) for draping a full-sized Ukrainian flag over his shoulders while casting his vote for the bill, or Rep. Gerald Connolly (D-VA) for proudly proclaiming that we have to take care of Ukraine first before dealing with President Joe Biden’s historic border crisis.
“Some say we have to deal with our border first,” Connolly said. “The Ukrainian-Russian border is our border!”

It is clear to many Americans that the Democrat Party has never been “America First,” but this is one of the most obvious examples of the left truly showing how much they prefer foreign countries over the country that they are supposed to be representing. While there is almost no chance of any Democrats voting in favor of Cammack’s bill, many are hopeful that it will pass as long as every Republican votes for it — though Cammack may face difficulty persuading many of her colleagues who support foreign intervention.
