Newsom Threatens To Have DeSantis Charged For ‘Kidnapping’ Migrants

Leftist California Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom leveled accusations against Florida Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis of “kidnapping” migrants recently flown to California.

The 16 illegal migrants were flown from New Mexico to Sacramento after they had been bussed from El Paso. According to the Los Angeles Times, they were let out on Friday at the Roman Catholic Diocese of Sacramento.

The incident only intensified the already heating rivalry between the two prominent governors on opposite coasts.

California Attorney General Rob Bonta released a statement on Saturday accusing Florida officials of facilitating the movement of the migrants from Venezuela and Columbia. They initially crossed the southern border into Texas.

Newsom on Monday took to Twitter to troll his political rival. Calling DeSantis a “small, pathetic man,” he then suggested the possibility of kidnapping charges against the Florida governor, though there is nothing pointing towards his direct involvement.

Since President Joe Biden’s open border policies led to millions illegally crossing into the U.S., Republican governors began busing and sometimes flying migrants to so-called “sanctuary” locations. This was initiated by Texas and other states, including Florida, followed suit.

It was last fall when DeSantis ignited a firestorm of controversy by flying a planeload of migrants to Martha’s Vineyard. This destination, of course, is a liberal bastion where Democrats have sprawling estates and proclaim sanctuary status for illegals.

The wheels fell off of Martha’s Vineyard’s welcome wagon quickly.

Having no facilities other than their palatial homes to host their new arrivals, within 24 hours the migrants were shipped to a military base for housing.

Newsom’s charges came despite the fact that the migrants never stepped foot in Florida. There has also not been any evidence released to connect the Sunshine State with the flight of border crossers to California.

The controversial Democratic governor and his home state are notorious for claiming to be sanctuaries for any and all who illegally cross the southern border. They offer enticing welfare benefits to those who enter the U.S. without documentation, sending out an undeniable welcome.

However, Newsom predictably reacts with shock when other governors do not respond in the same way to their states being overrun. Now he is threatening legal charges against a presidential candidate in yet another publicity stunt.
