Biden Chief Of Staff Expected To Step Down

President Joe Biden’s chief of staff, Ron Klain, will depart his post at the White House in the weeks ahead.

Klain has been at the forefront of the Biden administration since it began. His departure comes as the president undergoes investigations about his handling of classified documents during his vice presidency.

The New York Times reported:

“Ron Klain, the White House chief of staff who has steered President Biden’s administration through two years of triumphs and setbacks, is expected to step down in coming weeks in the most significant changing of the guard since Mr. Biden took office two years ago.”

Klain’s departure only spells trouble for the Biden administration. His help was crucial in implementing progressive policies.

Biden’s chief of staff was responsible for giving the Democratic party slim majorities in both chambers of Congress until the midterm elections.

According to Breitbart, “Klain helped Biden notch passage of an impressive litany of progressive Democrat priorities, including an infrastructure package, a bill pushing through an effort to bring back semiconductor chip manufacturing, the confirmation of a U.S. Supreme Court Justice, and a major Democrat-heavy spending plan at the end of 2022.”

Moreover, the president’s initial plan to pass the “Build Back Better” bill failed in Congress. However, Ron Klain negotiated with lawmakers, allowing portions of the bill to pass. Without Klain, sections of it would not have passed.

After the midterm election, democrats retained a majority in the U.S. Senate and Republicans were limited to a slim majority in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Yet, Klain’s role in the administration was not all sunshine and rainbows. There were downfalls during his time.

The Times stated:

“At the same time, Mr. Klain has presided over a rash of troubles that have drained public support for Mr. Biden.”

President Joe Biden’s administration was responsible for the highest inflationary rate in decades, the highest gas prices in decades and a declining economy.

“While unemployment has remained near record lows and job creation was robust, inflation reached its highest rate in 40 years, gas prices shot up to an all-time high, economic growth stalled for a time and illegal immigration at the southwestern border surged to record levels,” the Times said.

In addition to these problems, the president is under investigation for holding classified documents from the time he was vice president.

Biden has yet to announce who will replace Ron Klain. Biden losing Klain could not have come at the worst time. Republicans have begun investigating the president and his son and it is likely that the House GOP will stall any legislative initiatives that come from the White House.
