Gov. Kristi Noem (R) told Fox News that she stands by Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) as he tries to secure the southern border by offering to personally load up additional razor wire to deliver to the Lone Star State.
Noem told FOX News host Martha MacCallum on Thursday, “If Greg Abbott needs more razor wire, I’ll load it into a pickup, myself!”
The Supreme Court sided with the Biden administration and allowed Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) agents to remove or cut through razor wire installed by Texas officials. The razor wire was used as a deterrent to keep migrants from crossing the border into Texas.
Rather than following the Supreme Court’s ruling, Texas continued to use state officials to put new razor wire along the border and also offered to install the razor wire on privately owned ranches with land along the border.

Noem is not the only governor to stand behind Abbott’s attempts to bring stability back to the border. She joined 24 other GOP governors that have come out to publicly support Abbott’s stance, including Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp and Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin.
“Biden is so out of touch. He is remaking this country. We will be Europe within a year or two if we allow President Biden to continue this invasion of our country,” Noem said. “Over 6 million people have come here illegally. It is time to stand our ground, and we’ll be down there standing shoulder-to-shoulder with Gov. Abbott.”
Some Democrats, on the other hand, are calling for Biden to assume federal control of Texas’ National Guard if Abbott continues to defy both the Biden administration and the Supreme Court.
In response to the threat of taking over the Texas National Guard, Rep. Tony Gonzales of San Antonio said, “Biden better not — you know he may be a fool, but I hope he’s not an idiot.”
The ongoing feud between Texas and the federal government does not seem to have an end in sight. As Democratic lawmakers push Biden to federalize the Texas National Guard, some Republicans are responding by urging Abbott to expand and militarize the Texas State Guard and send them to the border.
