Bowman Demands Colleagues Help With ‘Nazi’ Republican Attacks

Rep. Jamaal Bowman (D-NY) is desperately trying to defend himself after pulling the fire alarm in a congressional office building on Saturday allegedly to delay a vote to prevent a government shutdown. In his latest attempt to defend his actions, the Democrat congressman sent a list of talking points to his Democrat colleagues — demanding that they help defend him against “Nazi” Republicans.

In the two-page document circulated to all House Democrat offices by Bowman’s press secretary, the New York Democrat suggested several talking points — including that “Republicans need to instead focus their energy on the Nazi members of their party before anything else.”

The document also repeats Bowman’s initial defense, which has been discredited by numerous critics and media outlets, including Breitbart News. Bowman claimed that he had pulled the fire alarm because he thought that it would open a nearby door.

Speaking to a reporter from Fox News on Monday, Bowman claimed: “I don’t know why this has gotten so much attention. I was literally just in a rush to go vote, man. That’s all it was.”

In discrediting his claims, Breitbart News wrote: “Multiple sources familiar with the investigation into Bowman pulling the fire alarm in the House, which triggered a full scale law enforcement and emergency services response leading to the evacuation of the building, told Breitbart News exclusively that Bowman ripped two signs down and threw then on the ground first.”

The outlet further noted that the photos of the scene show two giant red signs on the door, both of which state: “EMERGENCY EXIT ONLY—PUSH UNTIL ALARM SOUNDS (3 SECONDS) DOOR WILL UNLOCK IN 30 SECONDS.”

Another sign on a stand in front of the door states: “EMERGENCY EXIT ONLY.” The fire alarm that Bowman pulled is on the wall to the left of the sign, and the fire alarm clearly states that it is a “fire alarm.” It is clear that there is no way that Bowman thought the alarm would simply open a door and not trigger an evacuation and a law enforcement response.

In his list of talking points about the incident, Bowman singled out Rep. Troy Nehls (R-TX) for his colleagues to attack. Nehls previously told Breitbart News that “Jamaal Bowman is a deranged lunatic with an ego problem. He pulled a fire alarm to delay a vote. That’s a crime. It’s painfully obvious that he can’t take responsibility for his actions and is instead choosing to self-destruct.”

Bowman specifically wanted his Democrat colleagues to attack Nehls for a tweet that the Republican congressman made after the incident, which included a photo of Nehls holding a set of handcuffs and the caption: “Jamaal, are you ready?”

Meanwhile, Bowman’s actions are being investigated by both the U.S. Capitol Police and the Republican-led House Administration Committee. Several members of Congress are also separately preparing resolutions to expel the Democrat congressman from the House or censure him.
