President Says Hunter Biden ‘Makes Him Proud’

President Joe Biden defended his son Hunter as doing “nothing wrong” as federal prosecutors consider potential charges against the younger Biden.

The president said during an interview with MSNBC that “my son’s done nothing wrong.” He was asked about the impact of Hunter on his tenure.

The older Biden said that his son “impacts my presidency by making me feel proud of him.”

He added, “I trust him. I have faith in him.”

The president’s son is currently under federal investigation related to alleged firearm and tax crimes.

The investigation, which has been ongoing since 2018 has been gaining considerable attention. He has been investigated by a federal grand jury relating to a number of foreign transactions since December 2020.

He was also investigated for potential misdemeanor and felony tax violations, as well as an alleged false statement related to the purchase of a firearm. The younger Biden’s attorneys met with the Department of Justice last week.

Biden’s comments may also have significant repercussions on the ongoing investigation. The Biden administration’s Attorney General Merrick Garland said that his office would not interfere with the probe.

However, a former IRS investigator accused Washington of mishandling the Hunter Biden probe.

A letter from the attorney representing the unnamed agent said that he or she “made legally protected disclosures internally at the IRS” which “contradict sworn testimony to Congress by a senior political appointee.”

The letter also details “examples of preferential treatment and politics improperly infecting decisions and protocols,” The attorney cited an argument that the investigation into the president’s son did not prevent “clear conflicts of interest.”

Rep. James Comer (R-KY) also accused the Biden family of being “engaged in deceptive, shady business schemes to avoid scrutiny as they made millions from foreign adversaries like China.”

He then added that “it appears the Biden administration may have been working overtime to prevent the Bidens from facing consequences.”

The younger Biden has made it in the news in other ways recently. The president did not include Hunter Biden’s daughter when asked about how many grandchildren he had.
